I found 48 year old Larry sitting on a bus stop in Houston. He seems to be happy, content with no worries to think of. A Mississippian by birth, he has been living on the streets of Houston for the past two years.
“People here are o.k…..and today, I am doing OK! I have my Vodka right here and all is good”. “I really can’t say just one thing about life…I do know that I wake up in the morning, and hopefully I have enough money in my pocket to get a damn drink!”
“Usually, I do.”
I ask him how he gets money that affords him to purchase alcohol?
“Well, people just give it to me. Sometimes I ask” say he as he sips his daily dose. People here are approachable, though there are those who you wish you had not”
“Today is good”.
